Features
Everything a phone system needs
Every feature here is built, tested, and usable the day your account is switched on. What is not built yet is listed separately at the bottom.
01
Handling calls
Full control over how calls move inside and outside the office.
Extensions
A three or four digit number for each member of staff. Extension-to-extension calls are free, because they never leave our network.
Ring groups
Ring several phones at once for one call, or one after another. Whether the whole sales team rings together or the manager gets it first is your decision.
Transfer and hold
Pass a live call to a colleague — straight through, or after speaking to them first. On hold the caller hears music rather than silence.
Forwarding and do-not-disturb
Send calls elsewhere when busy, when unanswered, or always — including to a mobile. There is a do-not-disturb mode too.
02
Who answers
Decide in advance what happens when a call arrives.
IVR menus
"Press 1 for sales, 2 for support", in your own recorded voice. Each key can reach an extension, a ring group, a queue, or another menu.
Business hours and holidays
One behaviour during opening hours and another outside them. Public holidays are their own list, and everything is evaluated in your timezone.
Call queues
When every agent is busy the caller waits in line instead of hearing an engaged tone and hanging up.
Voicemail
A message is recorded when nobody answers, and you can play it back from the panel at any time.
03
Where people work
The places your staff actually make calls from.
Browser softphone
Open Chrome or Edge, log in, and the phone is ready. Nothing to install and nothing to update. Call, answer, hold and transfer all happen in the browser.
IP phones
Ordinary SIP desk phones work. Keep a real handset on reception if that is what you want.
Live calls
See which calls are up right now and who is talking to whom, live in the panel.
Click to call
Click a number and your own phone rings first; answer it and the far end is dialled.
04
Outbound at scale
Reaching a lot of customers at once.
Automated campaigns
Upload a list of numbers, record a message, and start calling. You control how fast the calls go out.
Keypress opt-out
One keypress removes a recipient permanently, and that list is write-only — it can be checked against, never read back.
List cleaning
Badly formatted numbers, duplicates and invalid entries are stripped from an upload before the campaign starts.
Progress
How many calls have gone out, how many remain, and how many were answered — while it is still running.
05
Reporting and control
What happened on the phone, and who is allowed to do what.
Call history
A record of every call — time, duration, both numbers and the outcome. Searchable by date, direction or number, and exportable as a file.
Usage this month
Minutes used, counted as calls end. It is what a free account is measured against; on a paid plan nothing is counting down and it is there because knowing is still useful.
Limits per account
Seats and monthly minutes come from the plan, and either can be set for one account on its own — which is how an enterprise agreement stops being a promise and becomes a number in the system.
Features off per account
Any part of the product can be switched off for a particular account. An operation that must not have a dialler in an agent’s hands is a setting rather than a conversation.
06
Connectivity
How you reach the outside world, over whichever line you like.
Your own SIP trunks
Connect a trunk from any carrier, as many as you like, at no extra charge. Your minutes stay on your carrier’s bill; FoxLine is only the switch in front of it.
Trunk failover
When a trunk stops answering, the call goes out over the next one without anybody having to notice.
Your numbers, on your trunk
Point the numbers you already have at a menu, a group, a queue or one extension. We do not sell you numbers, so nothing here is rented from us and nothing is lost by leaving.
Multiple companies
Run more than one business and each gets its own number, staff and books, with neither able to see the other.
Encryption
TLS for signalling, SRTP for audio. Not an option — a call that cannot be encrypted is not placed.
Not built yet
These do not exist today. Tell us if you need one — what people ask for is what gets built next.
Call recording
Recording and retention. Where recordings live and for how long has to be decided first.
Android and iOS apps
For now, the browser softphone and desk phones cover it.
Developer API
To place calls and receive call events from your own software.
SMS
Sending and receiving text messages on the same number.
See it yourself
Create an account and look around the panel. No card required.
